volleyball tourney
The Moku O Keawe Region of USA Volleyball is hosting a four-on-four Fun in the Sun grass volleyball tournament on Saturday.
The tournament is open to all divisions, boys and girls 12 and up as well as men’s and women’s novice and open.
The entry fee is $25 per team and the deadline to call and enter is Thursday.
Proceeds will help send a junior girls team to the High Performance championships in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

NFL’s Silva to hold
clinic on June 15
Mana Silva of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills will conduct a free football clinic from 10 a.m.-noon on June 15 at the Panaewa Park gym.
According to a release, the clinic will feature offense and defense modern concepts as well as techniques and skills.
Registration begins at 9:30 a.m.
Refreshments and autographs follow the clinic.

Waiakea is accepting
coaching applications
Waiakea High School is accepting varsity head coaching applications for the following positions: baseball, girls soccer, boys and girls track and field, and girls water polo.
Applications can be picked up from the Waiakea High School main office, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The application deadline for each position is 4 p.m. June 10.

Kukio Challenge
set for June 2
The 12th annual Kukio Challenge will take place at 9 a.m. June 2.
The race features a half-mile swim, three-mile run, and a two-mile paddleboard/stand-up paddleboard course.
Athletes age 14 and older may register for the event, which is limited to 100 entrants.
The cost is $65, and athletes must register at kukio.net by 3 p.m. Friday. Participants may register on race day for $75.
Proceeds benefit the Hui Laulima O Kekaha Kai, a group that aims to protect Kekaha Kai State Park in North Kona.
